There is something happening south of the Mason-Dixon line, let’s call it a revival. There is music rising from the bayous, backwoods & coming down from the mountain tops.
These guys having formed in 1997 (!) as Voodoo13 have gone through growing pains and are still going. On November 13th they re-introduce themselves as 13South…they were kind enough to let me preview their music before release…Mississippi Way starts with a homage to the Aerosmith groove of Sweet Emotion…then owns it…in that spirit of the New Age southern rock of the Georgia Thunderbolts, the L.A. Maybe & Naked Gypsy Queens…give them a listen, they will not disappoint & make you want to hear more…”I got my woman beside me, hope the fun never ends.” Rock is not dead, southern rock is thriving.
